Population

According to the national census in 1394, Lorestan has the population of about 1.8 million, approximately 62% of which live in cities and 38 percent in rural areas. Lorestan has 2.4% of the total population of the country and the literacy rate of the province is 82.9 percent. Lorestan is one of the youngest provinces of the country and 72% of its population in the age group of 15 to 64.
