The industry and mining sectors of Lorestan have an appropriate setting for significant grow than development since the province enjoys rich and numerous mining resources, diverse agricultural products, extensive livestock,proper fuel and energy and a large number of expert workforce.
   Of the total 88900large, medium and small industrial units in the country, 1652 industrial units are located in Lorestan province which is equivalent to 1.86%of the total industrial units in the country.

A survey of the industrial units in Lorestan province reveals that in terms of the number of units and the amount of investment made, Boroujerd city with 44 industrial units and the investment of 2,361,243 million Rls. ranked first respectively and Khorramabad city with 34 industrial units and an investment of 398,589 million Rls. ranked second respectively in the province.

The amount of fixed investment in industrial units with operation license amounted to 4,703,701 million Rls. with a nominal employment of 899 people by the end of 1396/2017. Motor vehicles products have the largest number and amount of capital investment among all industry groups.

Lorestan province has 22 industrial parks, 13 industrial towns on the assignment, 4 active industrial zones and 5 industrial parks under construction.
